💜 Bringing maternal health education closer to home.

On October 15, families joined EHCEC - East Harris County Empowerment Council at Channelview Foundation of Hope for our Maternal Health Workshop with Dr. Roderick Diggs, OB/GYN. We made space to learn about high blood pressure, preeclampsia, and heart health during pregnancy and beyond and to ask questions that matter to our families.

Thank you to Dr. Diggs, Lindsay Swanagan, Bryan Black, Shawna Brush-Clark, HCA Healthcare, New Beginnings Women’s Health Care, and Channelview Foundation of Hope, Harris County Precinct 2 for helping bring this conversation to our community. We’re grateful to the EHCEC team and every family who joined us.

Connecting families with trusted health information is one way we’re building a stronger East Harris County. 💜

Happy Birthday, Terence Narcisse! 🎉 Today, we celebrate the CEO of East Harris County Empowerment Council and the leader whose belief in this region continues to bring people together.

Terence sees East Harris County’s people, potential, and what becomes possible when schools, employers, nonprofits, government, and residents work toward a shared future.

Terence is always asking the bigger question: What could we do differently to create more opportunity across the region of East Harris County?

That question pushes us to think bigger, try new approaches, and build for the entire region of East Harris County.

Terence, thank you for committing your life to the mission of serving people. We are grateful for your relentless heart, your vision, your willingness to challenge the status quo, and your belief in the people of this region. Here’s to another year of bold ideas and turning possibilities into reality. Happy Birthday!
