Getting our hands dirty for something bigger than ourselves 🌱✨
Our students spent the day volunteering at Shamba Ya Amani Community Farm—a beautiful space rooted in culture, connection, and purpose.
“Shamba Ya Amani” means Farm of Peace in Swahili, and that’s exactly what it is. Created under FAM Houston, this farm exists to give the African diaspora a place to feel at home, reconnect with the land, and build community. 🌍💚
From harvesting fresh produce to learning about sustainable farming, our students showed up ready to work and give back.
Field Manager Latonya shared how spaces like this thrive because of community support—and how volunteer groups like ours play a vital role in keeping everything growing. 🌿
Shamba Ya Amani produces fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers—and you can support them by purchasing directly from the farm too! 🥕🌸
Moments like this remind us: impact starts locally.
