Due to a power outage, the City of Houston Municipal Courts Department’s 1400 Lubbock location was closed from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026. Individuals who were scheduled for arraignments or trials during this closure must appear in person between Monday, August 24, 2026, and Friday, September 4, 2026, by 5 p.m. to reset their case(s) and address their court matters.

Please note that if an individual does not reset their case(s) during this reset period (August 24, 2026, through September 4, 2026), an arrest warrant may be issued. Due to a power outage, the City of Houston Municipal Courts Department will be CLOSED Friday, August 21, 2026 at 1400 Lubbock, Houston, TX 77002. All normal court operations will resume on Monday, August 24, 2026. The 1400 Lubbock location will be open Saturday, August 22, 2026, for annex (walk-in) court, scheduled wedding ceremonies, and parking adjudication hearings. Case resets will take place in person at all City of Houston court locations beginning Monday, August 24, 2026, through Friday, September 4, 2026, until 5 p.m.

Please visit the Municipal Courts’ website at www.houstontx.gov/courts for information on all court locations and hours of operation. It is important to note that if an individual fails to reset their case(s) during the reset period (August 24, 2026 through September 4, 2026), an arrest warrant may be issued.

From 10 a.m.-10 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, there will be:
* No Trials by Judge or Jury Trials. Resets will be given in person at all City of Houston court locations beginning Monday, August 24, 2026, through Friday, September 4, 2026, until 5 p.m.
* No Arraignments. Anyone scheduled for arraignments during this time must come in person beginning Monday, August 24, 2026, through Friday, September 4, 2026, until 5 p.m., to handle their court matters.
* No Parking Adjudication Hearings. Hearings will resume Saturday, August 22, 2026.
* No Jury Service. Jury service will resume Monday, August 24, 2026. You do not need to reschedule your jury service if scheduled during the closure period.
