This month’s Wellness Wednesday theme is strategies for effective stress management as we wrap up the school year.

The final days of school can feel exciting, overwhelming and exhausting all at once. Taking care of your mental wellness is important during times of transition and change.

Here are a few strategies to help manage stress:
🧠 Identify what may be causing stress and give yourself time to reflect
🎧 Make time for activities that help you recharge and relax
🚶 Build healthy habits through movement, rest and balanced meals
💬 Reach out for support when things start to feel overwhelming

As summer begins, remember to slow down, reset and make space for rest. Small steps can make a big difference.

Houston’s soccer spirit is taking over the city and YES Prep is joining the celebration this weekend at Copa Univision! ⚽🔥

Families are invited to stop by the YES Prep booth at Houston Sports Park for a day filled with community, games, giveaways, and soccer fun as excitement builds around the World Cup coming to Houston.

YES Prep student athletes will be onsite representing their campuses and showcasing championship trophies during the event. Visitors can test their skills at our soccer challenge, meet the team, learn more about YES Prep schools across Houston, and enter for a chance to win official World Cup soccer balls and jerseys.

Las familias están invitadas a visitar la mesa de YES Prep en Houston Sports Park para disfrutar de un día lleno de comunidad, juegos, premios y diversión futbolera mientras crece la emoción por la Copa Mundial que llegará a Houston.

Estudiantes atletas de YES Prep estarán presentes representando a sus escuelas y mostrando trofeos de campeonato durante el evento. In May, AP English Literature students take the AP Exam, and then they work on a Director’s Project where they record podcasts that engage with the themes and style of the filmmakers through focused conversations with peers.  Our May Students of the Month excelled in both their writing film reviews AND their podcasts which ranged from The Russo Brothers to David Fincher to Guillermo Del Toro!  These three students closed out the year at the top of their games, ready for senior year!

Important notes:
•Thursday, May 28 is early dismissal at 1pm – make sure students are picked up on time if they are a car rider. 🕐

•Students should bring cash to purchase any goodies from that will be parked outside the gym! 💵

•If we have rainy weather, all games will be moved to the gym instead of outside and grade levels will take turns attending the activities. 🌧️ Students are encouraged to participate, but there will be designated areas if they choose to opt out. Card games and other activities will also be available. 🎶

We hope all students are present to make their last day of the school year a memorable one! 🥳

Join us on May 30 at 8 a.m. at Houston Sports Park for an afternoon full of community, games, and fun as Houston celebrates the excitement surrounding the World Cup atmosphere coming to the city.
