Texas Freedome Accounts for the vouchers.

Make sure families apply by the end of the month!
The deadline to apply for Texas Education Freedom Accounts has been extended to 11:59 p.m. CT on March 31.

We know the timeline for applications and funding is important to schools as you look ahead to the 2026-27 school year.

Here’s what you need to know:

Families may apply before the extended deadline at 11:59 p.m. CT on March 31. The extended deadline applies to all submitted information – including the deadline to have an Individualized Education Program on file with the Texas Education Agency.
After families apply, they may also log in to the Odyssey platform to update their child’s information at any time before the deadline.
Families do not have to select a school when they apply. More schools are joining the program daily. The deadlines to select a school are:
• June 1 to receive funding by July 1.
• July 15 to receive funding in time for the start of the school year in
August.
The program is not first-come, first-served. All families will be considered on a level playing field within each priority tier, regardless of when their application is submitted.
We still plan to send out the first award notifications in April and to begin funding student accounts on July 1. Our goal is to accommodate this deadline extension while sticking as closely to our previously communicated timeline as feasible.
Our goal is to maximize participation in the record-breaking first year of school choice in Texas while ensuring families have ample time to make decisions and prepare for a successful 2026-27 school year.
