Houston ISD Multilingual We offer administrative leadership and support to all HISD schools with Bilingual, English as a Second Language, and Dual Language programs. OUR OBJECTIVES:
1.

The Multilingual Programs Department offers administrative leadership and support for Bilingual and English as a Second Language Education and alternative language programs for all identified students who have limited proficiency in English or are eligible English Language Learners (ELLs), immigrant, migrant, refugee, and newcomer. OUR MISSION:
The Multilingual Programs Department will institutionalize comprehensive and proactive programming and compliance systems to ensure that all district ELL, immigrant, refugee, and migrant students will successfully graduate from high school and be prepared to attend the post-secondary option of their choice. Provide programming and compliance support for the implementation of Bilingual and English as a Second Language programs

2. Provide compliance and instructional support for the implementation of the Migrant Education Program

3. Provide campus guidance and classroom instructional support for the provision of appropriate refugee and newcomer services.

4. Monitor district compliance with state and federal regulations that impact services for English Language Learners, immigrant, migrant, refugee, and newcomer students.
