Fifth Ward CRC is a finalist.

We are honored to be named a finalist for the 2026 Mickey Leland Public Leadership Award at the Greater Houston Black Chamber’s 29th Annual Pinnacle Awards & Gala.

Named in honor of Houston’s own U.S. Congressman Mickey Leland, this award recognizes nonprofit organizations carrying forward his extraordinary legacy of fighting for equity, expanding access and serving our most vulnerable communities.

Those values are deeply connected to the work we do in Fifth Ward. Every day, our team works alongside residents and community partners to expand opportunities, strengthen our neighborhood and help create a more just and equitable Houston.

Being recognized among organizations doing this important work throughout our city is an incredible honor. We congratulate all of the 2026 nominees and thank our staff, Board, partners, supporters and Fifth Ward community for making our work possible. 💚
