We recently sat down with our wonderful resident, Mr.
Sergio, to learn more about his experience in our program!

It was a joy to hear about the positive impact our community partners have had on his journey, including Allies in Hope, Second Servings of Houston and The Pursuit of Hope Center 💪🏽

Mr. Sergio also shared his appreciation for our life skills classes, particularly those focused on hygiene, self-care, and personal growth. This was a powerful reminder of the importance of providing supportive services that empower residents and help them thrive 🌞

At Temenos CDC, we are proud of our Supportive Services team for the meaningful work they do every day to build connection, confidence, and community among residents.
A special recognition goes to Case Managers Ms. JJ and Mr. Terence for their intentional efforts in engaging residents and fostering EMPOWERMENT! Their work reflects our core value of creating opportunities for residents to recognize, build, and act on their own strengths.
Check out a resident-led class where our community learned to knit!

Today is a great day to be part of Temenos CDC!

A huge shoutout to our amazing case managers, Ms. JJ and Mr. Terence, for working hard to procure free bikes and help bring back a beloved community favorite: BIKE CLUB! Thank you to for making this happen! Thanks to their dedication, every resident interested in participating now has access to a bike 🎊

We love seeing movement, connection, and encouragement come together as residents feel the hot and humid Houston wind on their faces while cruising through the city as a group. Moments like these remind us that supportive services are about more than resources, they’re about joy, community, and creating opportunities to thrive.

Supportive Services for the win! 🚲☀️

Another glimpse into our all-staff meeting at Temenos CDC where learning, teamwork, and self-care all came together.

From trauma-informed care discussions to laughter, lavender aromatherapy, and moments of connection, we’re grateful for a team that shows up for our residents and each other every day, and a special thank you to for helping us make it possible. 💜

Our Supportive Services team has been focused on strengthening everyday life skills with residents, building confidence and independence in meaningful, practical ways 💫

Our supportive services team is taking this time to shift into some fun, uplifting, and interactive programming that keeps learning engaging and hands-on. Upcoming sessions are including topics like hygiene in a creative setting, such as making DIY sugar scrubs while exploring skin health, self-care benefits, and personal choice!

We’re especially excited to support autonomy by encouraging residents to choose their own scents and customize things like moisturizing levels, making the experience both educational and personally meaningful 💚

Learning works best when it’s engaging and we’re looking forward to what’s ahead 💪

At Temenos CDC, we strive to hold all-staff meetings every other month to connect, collaborate, learn, and continue improving our programs and processes together.

Because our supportive services are rooted in trauma-informed care, our team is constantly learning, practicing, and growing because who doesn’t need refreshers sometimes?

During this month’s meeting, we realized something important: while we spend so much time encouraging self-care for our residents, we also needed to pause and practice it ourselves.

In between brainstorming trauma-informed care approaches and running through emergency response scenarios, we took a moment to stop and smell the roses… or lavender, in this case! 🪻

Thanks to the support of we were able to treat our hardworking team to a nutritious breakfast and some self-care to practice simple self-massage techniques together. And maaaaaybe a little something sweet! 🍰

The calming lavender aromatherapy helped us relax, though not quite enough to stop the jokes and laughter from our team. And honestly, sometimes laughter is the best self-care there is.

Thank you, H-E-B, for helping us pour back into the people who pour so much into others every day. ❤️
