EVENT UPDATE - Unfortunately, the restaurant has informed us, a few hours ago, that they are closing for business. Today is their last day. We will be on the lookout for a new venue in the area, and will alert you once we have a new restaurant to host our meetings.

Howdy, all - we've had an event update. Our monthly West Loop Conservative meeting - headlining Jacqueline Lucci Smith (for Harris County Attorney) and Claudio Gutierrez (candidate for Harris County Appraisal District) has moved to TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1.

That's the day after it was originally scheduled. We're still meeting at 7PM at Cyclone Anaya's at 3736 Westheimer.

This month, we are proud to host Judge Jacqueline Lucci Smith and Claudio J. Gutierrez as our main speakers. Smith is running for Harris County Attorney, and Gutierrez is running for Harris County Appraisal District - and is endorsed by Kyle Scott (Kyle Scott Campaign). We desperately need these two outstanding individuals in office.

Thank you to Luisa Deason for joining West Loop Conservatives this past Monday. She brought passion, facts, and her vast breadth of experience serving ICE and DHS, as well as a reporter for Telemundo. Some points she mentioned:

- death threats against ICE agents have increased an astounding 8000%
- birthright citizenship is vastly abused and must be ended. No other nation has such a broad policy extending citizenship to nearly any individual. Now, millions of children who automatically became citizens are sponsoring their parents for citizenship - ballooning the immigration crisis to unimaginable levels. How can we account for who is in this country?
- reporters are not conducting thorough investigations. Jumping to conclusions prior to final federal investigations on ICE shootings serve no one and harm our community

Hello Patriots!

I’m excited to announce that our next meeting will feature Luisa Deason as our guest speaker. Her unique background makes her upcoming visit informative and compelling - so join us!

Luisa is a former investigative reporter and morning news anchor at Telemundo. She also served as a Public Affairs Officer with the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) and later with ICE. She currently hosts the podcast Frontline Facts with Luisa Deason, where she covers immigration, public policy, national security, and local Houston/Harris County issues. Luisa is the author of the book A Reporter’s Journey Inside Media, DHS and ICE. The book explores how stories are framed in the media, the rise of outrage-driven journalism, psychological manipulation through headlines, the power of omission, and the importance of critical thinking in the digital age. It is part memoir, part investigative reflection, and a timely societal warning. The book is available on Amazon, as well. Luisa frequently participates in local political and community discussions on immigration enforcement, law enforcement coordination, and Harris County issues.
