NEXT THURSDAY, BLANKET BINGO GETS SPOOKY UNDER THE DOWNTOWN HOUSTON SKYLINE! 🎃🌃

Gather your boo crew, blankets, and lawn chairs for the Halloween Edition of Blanket Bingo at on Thursday, October 29! 👻🏆 Enjoy music, friendly competition, and the chance to win BIG prizes, with tunes by Maurice Duhon () and Mills McCoin () keeping the crowd energized!

🕯️ An ofrenda will also be on-site to honor loved ones who have passed. Bring a photo of someone you’d like to remember and help us celebrate their memory. ❤️

More shade, better lighting, and a more enjoyable way to experience Downtown Houston! 🌳☀️🚶

The first phase of Cool + Connected Corridors is officially complete on Texas Avenue, bringing 15 blocks of improvements designed to make getting around Downtown more comfortable and connected.

Here’s what’s new:
☂️ Petal-inspired shade structures to provide relief from the heat
🌳 13 new trees and added landscaping
💡 Enhanced lighting for a brighter experience after dark

And the impact is already taking shape! Early measurements show temperatures under the shade structures averaging 10°F cooler, with reductions of up to 30°F, while nighttime illumination is now 2–6 times greater than before.

Connecting the Theater District, Main Street Promenade, Daikin Park, and surrounding hotels, residences, and offices, Texas Avenue is helping create a more welcoming experience for everyone moving through Downtown.

With Phase One complete, this is only the beginning. Building on the success of Main Street Promenade, Cool + Connected Corridors is creating a blueprint for a more comfortable, connected Downtown Houston. 👏
