Salt Grass Chapter The Salt Grass Chapter was created in 1967 and is dedicated to improving professionalism in the City

The Salt Grass Chapter is dedicated to improving professionalism in the city clerks/secretaries office. At each monthly meeting, the Chapter strives to present a program on some aspect of city government as it touches the clerk's office and to make it possible for area clerks to have an opportunity to present problems and seek solutions through discussions with area clerks. The Chapter is actively

involved with the Texas Municipal Clerks Certification and Re-certification Programs, and urges its members to participate. The Salt Grass Chapter is well represented in the Texas Municipal Clerks Association with members on the state Executive Board and several state committees. Our installation of officers for 2026 was held at our December meeting on Wednesday, Dec 10th. President Richardson attended the meeting and conducted the oaths of officers.

Our Municipal Clerk of the Year was awarded to Maria Jackson, City Secretary of City of Humble.

Our chapter awarded over $6,000 in scholarships, plus two $350 scholarships from Olson & Olson and one $250 scholarship from General Code.

After the meeting concluded, the famously fun gift exchange event occurred.

Our meeting was held at Maggiano’s.
