Please help us get the word out by sharing. PARKING REMINDER FROM THE HOUSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT

We want to make sure everyone in our community — especially our high school students — are aware of the parking regulations at the Civic Center on Starkville Road, located directly across from the high school.

Civic Center parking is reserved for park and Civic Center use only. It is not designated as overflow parking for the high school.

Beginning now, officers will be enforcing the parking restrictions in this area. Vehicles that are improperly parked may be ticketed and/or towed at the owner’s expense.

We understand that parking can be challenging, especially for students, and we want to help everyone avoid an unnecessary expense. No one wants to spend money on a ticket or tow that could have been prevented simply by parking in an approved location.

Students: Please make sure you know where you are permitted to park and plan accordingly before arriving at school.

Thank you for helping us keep the Civic Center and surrounding areas safe, accessible, and available for their intended use. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding! 👮‍♂️🚓

Mississippi law enforcement has lost a dedicated public servant. Former Houston Police Chief Billy Voyles devoted more than three decades to serving the people of Chickasaw County and the City of Houston, including 31 years as Chickasaw County Constable and 16 years as Houston Police Chief.

Chief Voyles leaves behind a legacy of leadership, service, and commitment to his community that will not be forgotten. Please keep his family, friends, fellow officers, and the Houston community in your prayers during the days ahead. Rest easy, Chief. Your watch is over, but your legacy lives on. 💙🖤

Remembering Chief Billy Voyles

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of former Houston Police Chief Billy Voyles, who passed away Monday, August 24, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Chief Voyles dedicated more than three decades of his life to serving and protecting the people of Chickasaw County and the City of Houston. He faithfully served as Chickasaw County Constable for 31 years and as Chief of Police for the City of Houston for 16 years.

Billy’s commitment to public service was more than a job—it was a calling. His dedication, leadership, and love for the community touched countless lives. His legacy of service will not be forgotten.

Please keep Billy’s family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of serving alongside him in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
