Little York Fire Department had the pleasure of being part of the Memorial Day ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

We are proud to stand alongside our veterans, their families, and our community as we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Little York is grateful for our long-standing partnership and the continued opportunity to support this meaningful ceremony each year.

Please join us in congratulating Captain Agustin Martinez on graduating last night from Lone Star College with his Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management.

This accomplishment reflects his dedication, leadership, and commitment to serving our community both on and off duty. Balancing higher education while serving in the fire service is no small task, and we are proud to celebrate this milestone with him.

Congratulations, Captain Martinez, on this well-earned achievement and continued success in your career!

As first responders, we are sometimes called to help fellow first responders. But what happens when the call involves an Officer K9 handler, and the K9 is trained to protect its partner at all costs?

Today, Driver Operator Camacho and Firefighter Regla trained on how to safely secure a police K9 during an emergency so crews can quickly and safely provide medical care to the injured officer. Training like this strengthens coordination between agencies and helps ensure the safety of everyone involved, responders, officers, and K9 partners alike.

Every home visit is an opportunity to make our community safer. Through our Community Risk Reduction efforts, Little York Fire Department has now visited 320 homes and impacted an estimated 955 residents across our district.

During these visits, our crews have installed 1,161 free smoke alarms and replaced 52 batteries to help ensure families have early warning in the event of a fire. These simple devices save lives, and we are proud to provide them at no cost to our community.

Our firefighters continue to go door-to-door educating residents on fire safety, checking existing alarms, and installing new smoke alarms where needed. Prevention and preparedness remain one of the most important services we can provide.

If your home needs smoke alarms or your current alarms are outdated or not working properly, reach out to us to learn more about our free smoke alarm program. Together, we are reducing risk and protecting lives—one home at a time. 🚒🏠🔥
