If the recent attacks on voter engagement in our legislature haven't been a wake up call -- I'm not sure what it will take. We must pay attention to each and every election that we have the privilege to vote in as our very democracy seems to be at stake.

The presidential contest understandably grabbed a lot of the media's attention, but local elections have a huge impact on our daily lives.
