A Canadian man has been sentenced to 33 years in federal prison for targeting over 100 children across the U.S. in one of FBI Houston's largest s*xtortion cases. For years, Ramanan Pathmanathan, 40, used multiple social media accounts to contact at least 145 girls and boys demanding them to engage in s*xually explicit conduct. If they declined, he threatened to send compromising images to the children’s friends or family. Alleged active-shooter residing illegally in New Caney has been federally charged of being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm. Juan Ayala-Montero, 60, is accused of firing his rifle at a group of neighbors after an argument, hitting one person. An AR-style rifle with a scope was recovered in the suspect's bedroom. FBI Houston assisted in the investigation.

Christopher Knight Lopez of Katy has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for scamming clients out of some $17 million in a Ponzi scheme. For about ten years, Lopez and his brother Jayson defrauded their clients by providing false information about the companies in which the clients invested. They used forged bank letters and fabricated account statements to mislead investors about the companies’ financial strength.
