It was another full and meaningful week across the Office of County Administration.
This week, Commissioners Court held a special session to continue discussions on the FY27 budget and hear from community members on issues important to Harris County.
We also welcomed our fall OCA interns with a meet-and-greet, giving them an opportunity to connect, get to know one another, and learn more about the work happening across OCA. We’re excited to have them join the team and look forward to all they'll experience during their internships.
OCA’s Sustainability team joined The Coalition for Environment, Equity, & Resilience (CEER) for the Climate Action Pathfinders Case Clinic, where they showcased Harris County’s planning and implementation of the Climate Justice Plan alongside local government and community leaders from across the country. It was an opportunity to share what we’ve learned and highlight the collaborative work happening here in Harris County.
Additionally, OCA colleagues came together for an internal Excel training session, creating an opportunity to strengthen our skills, learn from one another, and continue building the tools that support our work every day.
As we close out the week, we also pause to remember Sept. 11, 2001. We honor the lives lost, the first responders and service members who answered the call, the survivors, and the countless individuals and communities forever changed by that day. We remember the courage, compassion, and spirit of service that brought people together in the days that followed, and we carry those values forward in how we serve others.
Another week of listening, learning, collaborating, and moving the work forward - together.
