Winter Feeding Strategies Program

As we head into the fall and begin planning for winter feeding, Virginia Cooperative Extension and the Amelia Area Cattlemen, LLC invite you to join us for a winter feeding program with Dr. John Currin, Professor of Production Management & Food Animal Veterinarian at Virginia Tech.

The program will focus on practical feeding strategies during hay shortages and help producers evaluate options for maintaining cattle performance while managing feed costs. Participants are encouraged to bring forage analyses and any winter feeding ideas or scenarios they would like to discuss. Dr. Currin will walk through several example feeding strategies and discuss their economic and production impacts, and expected animal performance.

Thursday, September 24th, 2026 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm
Southern Piedmont Research Station (2375 Darvills Rd, Blackstone, VA 23824) - Dinner will be served!
