April is STD Awareness Month! This month is to give everyone the opportunity to learn about what sexually transmitted diseases are and how they impact our lives. It’s important to understand how to test for, prevent, and treat STDs. Many STDs don’t usually cause symptoms, so testing is the only way to find the infection.
Here at the Cape May County Department of Health, we offer STI screenings and treatments. If you or a loved one think you are at risk, give us a call at 609-465-1193 to schedule an appointment, or visit our website at https://capemaycountynj.gov/431/Family-Planning-Services. All of our services are confidential.

Come visit us at the Community Baby Shower from 11 a-2p. There are lots of baby essentials for expecting and new moms.

A Message from the CMC Office of Emergency Management

DELAWARE BAY BARGE FIRE

A barge carrying metals caught fire in the Delaware Bay late Tuesday morning. Fireboats and Coast Guard units responded.

There were no reported injuries as of the latest updates. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The barge is currently being towed out of the shipping lane and is expected to remain off the coast of Cape May/Cumberland counties as firefighting efforts advance.

The lead agency addressing this emergency is the US Coast Guard.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection is working closely with the Coast Guard and the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management in responding to the fire. NJDEP will be monitoring for potential impacts to air quality as well as water quality and the ecological resources of the Delaware Bay.

The Cape May County Office of Emergency Management will share further information as it becomes available.

Please note there has been a change in location to the clinic on March 7th in Sea Isle.
