Very sad new to pass on. Our hearts are with Betty Jean and her family.
Our 4-H Hearts are broken! Cape May County 4-H and Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County mourns the loss of our beloved âBJ.â
Betty Jean Jesuncosky Webersinn, a very special member of our 4-H Family for more than half a century, died peacefully at home on Saturday, August 23, 2025, after a long illness.
BJ began her career in extension in 1970, became the 4-H Program Associate here in Cape May County in 1974, and later ruled kindly and benevolently as 4-H Agent for over 30 years.
After her retirement in 2012, BJ continued to volunteer and support our 4-H Program in any way requestedâŚher heart was always open when it came to our 4-H community. She generously supported many 4-Hersâ travel to national leadership conferences, and this year initiated a first-time camper scholarship to L.G. Cook 4-H Camp.
It would be impossible to estimate the number of children BJ positively influenced through 4-H over her long, successful career. BJ was passionate about many things, but chief among them were 4-H and kids. She truly âbled green.â
There will be a Celebration of Life in her honor on Saturday, September 20th, beginning at 2 pm and continuing throughout the afternoon at the Lockwood 4-H Youth Center. All are welcome.
