🌱 Big things are growing in our garden! 🌿

We absolutely love our new outdoor chalkboard, and we want to give a massive thank you to KABOOM! and Amazon for making this amazing addition to our garden possible! 🎉

We put it right to work with a hands-on STEM lesson all about MINT! 🔬 We explored some fascinating plant science, including:

Stolons/Runners: Learning how mint spreads and grows its own little neighborhood.

Square Stems: Discovering the unique shape that makes the mint family so special (circles❌, squares✔️!).

Menthol: Checking out the science behind that crisp, cool minty smell.

We tasted, smelled, felt, and planted mint in the garden this morning.

There's nothing better than learning out in the fresh air and sunshine. We can't wait for many more lessons out here! ☀️📚

A massive transformation happened at the Fayette County Family YMCA! Thanks to the incredible partnership between Amazon and KABOOM!, hundreds of local volunteers came together to build a safe, inclusive, and 100% kid-designed playground.

Get ready for a day of fun and health! 🎡🍎

Join us for the 34th Annual Community Health Fair & Family Fun Day on June 6, 2026! From free health screenings to a petting zoo and fatherhood talks, there is something for everyone in the family.

📍 Where: Grace Community Church (525 Glenn Avenue, WCH)
🕗 When: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
📅 Event Highlights:

8:00 AM: CarFit for older drivers (appointment only) and free eye exams/glasses with Better Vision, Better Hope.
9:00 AM: Honey Hill Farm Petting Zoo, face painting, and emergency vehicle tours.
10:00 AM: Home Depot Kids Workshop, Adena’s inflatable colon, and a wildlife talk with ODNR Officer John Coffman.
10:30 AM: Fatherhood talk with Eric Tattersall—plus swag bags and concession vouchers for the first 25 dads at each session!
11:00 AM: MedFlight Landing!

🩺 Health Services & Screenings:
Take advantage of free screenings including blood pressure, skin damage, depression, and senior wellness.

Pre-register for Bloodwork:
Discounted lab panels are available, including a General Health Panel ($150) and a Lipid Panel ($30).

To Pre-register: Send your form and check (payable to AFMC) to 1430 Columbus Ave., WCH by Wednesday, June 3.

Same-Day: Register by 12:00 PM on the day of the event.
