Ms. Kristen’s class put their five senses to work during Five Senses Exploration Day!

Students used their senses to investigate clues and discover what was hiding inside mystery bags and jars. 🔍✨ Learning through exploring, wondering, and discovering!

Today students in our AU classroom continued to learn about the 3 states of matter. We learned how water can take all 3 forms by freezing “snowballs” (solid) to make a snowman. We then added salt to watch the snowman melt (liquid) and then added heat to watch water heat up to make steam (gas).

Happy Thursday! It's Staff Shoutout Day, and we are recognizing Early Childhood Center occupational therapist Sheila Foster and Valley Middle School administrative assistant Erica Belcher!

About Ms. Foster: With more than 15 years of dedicated service to the district, Sheila has made a lasting impact on students across all buildings and programs, from Pre-K through high school. She brings creativity and a willingness to think outside the box to find engaging and meaningful ways to connect with her students, particularly those with more significant needs. Her cheerful, welcoming nature helps students and parents feel comfortable and valued, while her diligence with paperwork and data collection ensures that she consistently supports students with care and professionalism. Her commitment, creativity, and positive spirit make her a valued member of our district team.

About Ms. Belcher: Erica has done an amazing job at helping out and assisting all summer long when we were in search of a new registrar. She has gone above and beyond making sure that her job was complete as well as taken care of duties outside of hers to ensure that students start on time. She makes sure that all new employees are correctly trained and feel welcome in our building. It would be hard to imagine Valley without Mrs. Belcher in our office and taking care of our needs.

Congratulations to you both, and thank you for making Northwest a wonderful place for our students, families, and staff!

We’re learning all about emotions at ECC! 😊😢😡🤪

Recognizing feelings is an important part of learning how to understand ourselves and others, so we decided to put our emotional expression skills to the test! Students AND staff picked an emoji and had to make the face. 😂

Safe to say… ECC understood the assignment. 😜💙
