UPDATE AND REMINDER FOR PLANNED OUTAGE AT LANDRY SUBSTATION WEDNESDAY, JUNE 10, 11:30PM

During the planned outage last night, an unexpected issue was found while SLECA employees and our power provider were isolating the damaged equipment. This is what caused the outage to last longer than the original estimation, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. The safety of our employees is our highest priority.

Please be aware that the second outage will be this evening starting at approximately 11:30PM, and based on our understanding, the outage can be expected to be the same as last night.

*LANDRY SUBSTATION PLANNED OUTAGE

A damaged high voltage switch on the transmission side at the Landry Substation on Coteau Road needs to be repaired. SLECA and our power provider will need to take the substation offline for the safety of all employees as we work to make repairs to the switch.

There will be two separate outages to complete this job.
• June 9, 2026 starting at 11:30 p.m. - to isolate the damaged equipment
• June 10, 2026 starting at 11:30 p.m. - to put the equipment back in service
Both outages are scheduled to last approximately 2 hours each.

The areas affected by the outage include Oakshire and Northpark subdivisions, Coteau Rd., Bayou Blue Rd., Marietta Pl., Eureka Dr., Linda Ann Ave., Trinity Ln. and Technology Ln. If you live in the surrounding areas and are served by SLECA, please expect to be out of power during the above times.

We will conduct the maintenance in a safe and timely manner and appreciate your patience while we make these repairs to better serve our community and increase reliability for our members. Please call our office if you have any questions or concerns.

This is a full-time position. We are seeking a professional and organized Human Resources Administrator to support daily HR operations and employee services. This position is responsible for assisting with benefits administration, onboarding, employee records, payroll support, compliance, and general HR functions while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

UPDATE: We are switching as many customers as we can to a different circuit, but will still have some out (W & E Ellendale Estates area) until the crossarm is repaired.

We are currently experiencing an outage in the following areas: Southdown Mandalay, W Ellendale Estates, Cypress Village, Savanne Rd., The Lakes; We are working to isolate and repair the problem (broken crossarm) and will restore power as soon as we can safely do so.

We are currently experiencing a power outage in the Bayou Black area due to a vehicle accident involving one of our poles. Our crews are on site and working as safely and efficiently as possible to replace the pole and restore power.

Our Houma and Amelia offices will be closing at 3:30pm today, April 17th, 2026. We will be preparing for SLECA's Annual Meeting being held at the Barry P. Bonvillain Civic Center. Registration is from 5:30pm - 7:00pm with the meeting beginning at 7:00pm.
