Meet Mandy Verret
Candidate for Terrebonne Parish School Board – District 7-Ballot # 74
Mandy Verret is a lifelong member of the Terrebonne Parish community, a wife, mother of three daughters, former teacher, and dedicated advocate for children and families.
Mandy is a proud graduate of H.L. Bourgeois High School and Nicholls State University. She and her husband, Jimmy Verret Jr., built their life and raised their three daughters here in Terrebonne Parish. With their family deeply connected to the local school system and community, Mandy understands that strong public schools play an important role not only in the lives of our children, but also in the future of our entire parish.
As a former teacher in the Terrebonne Parish School System for 6 years, Mandy understands education from inside the classroom. For the past six years, she has continued serving children and families through her work with Louisiana’s EarlySteps program, helping families of young children access services, resources, and support. Her experiences as an educator, mother, professional, parent representative, and volunteer have given her a well-rounded understanding of the needs of students, parents, educators, and families.

District 7
• Supporting teachers and school employees
• Advocating for the needs and success of every student
• Ensuring parents and families have a voice in decisions
affecting their children
• Supporting students with disabilities and their families
• Promoting responsible and transparent decision-making

For Mandy, running for School Board is not about a title—it is about service, representation, and giving back to the community that helped shape her.
Her years of involvement as a teacher, parent, volunteer, committee representative, and advocate for children and families have allowed her to see our school system from many different perspectives.
Now, she is ready to bring that experience, dedication, and commitment to the Terrebonne Parish School Board and be a strong voice for the families of District 7.
