We are pleased to announce our first ever THREE time winner!
Houma has much to be thankful for with its two week free show that each of these Krewes put on every year! Sure there is the fun of beads, stuffed animals, and dried shrimp (yes, we caught more than one bag this year!) Then there is the philanthropy - many Krewes visit TARC and the nursing homes and senior centers, Southern Axe raised over $60,000 with the help of Krewes this year for a pediatric cancer patient (simply amazing!) The phenomenal work of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office, Houma Police Department, Louisiana State Police Troop C, and Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government to keep our streets safe and clean! And so much more it would be impossible to mention.
One thing that can easily get overlooked is the talented marching bands that perform at our parades. Bands from this parish, around the state, and around the country. Each Krewe donates large sums of money to help support the bands that participate in their parades - helping keep the arts alive here and across the region.
One Krewe has done an exceptional job time and again for the three years we have hosted this event. We would like to sincerely thank the Krewe of Houmas for the time and resources they pour into the arts! Congratulations for once again being named our Best Parade of Bands winner!
Will King Houmas go for four in 2025 or will another Krewe outplay the defending champions?
