We are proud to announce Deputy Dustin Charette and K-9 Sara have completed the 14 week K-9 patrol school. Deputy Charette and K-9 Sara graduated today with Deputy Charette’s family pinning him. K-9 Sara is a 19 month old Czech Shepard who is now certified in building searches, article searches, apprehension, and tracking. We look forward to what these two will be able to achieve as a team.

Sergeant Janakis was able to assist with an es**rt in Houlton this morning for the Houlton GHCA boys 4x8 relay team. These boys won the class C state championship last weekend and are now one of six teams from Maine to compete in the event at the New England Championship Tommorow. Best of luck to them as well as the Presque Isle girls 4x8, Pierce Gorneault of caribou in the 3200and Ethan Walsh of Fort Fairfield in the high jump. Who have all also qualified for the meet. Run fast and good luck!

Deputy York did a school visit today at Southern Aroostook Community School. Deputy York visited the fifth grade class and attended the Senior Parade

Deputy Brown and special junior Deputy Porter got to help out with the Easton prom tonight. Deputy Porter was able to show these ladies how to open the door like a gentlemen. Unfortunately prom goes past his bedtime and he couldn’t dance the night away with them. Here’s to a safe fun night for everyone.

Your dedication does not go unnoticed and we appreciate your service. This week we honor your bravery, service and commitment. We would also like to thank all local heroes for keeping our communities safe and being there for backup when needed.

Yesterday Deputy Benjamin Boutilier was presented with the Life Saving Award by the Maine Chiefs of Police Association for his heroic bravery during an incident on November 7, 2025. The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office is proud of Deputy Boutilier for his service to our department, community and county on a daily basis. Our thoughts go out to the Warden and their loved ones.

We are heartbroken to share that a Maine Game Warden died this morning following a plane crash in Avon, near Schoolhouse Pond. The crash occurred at approximately 11:00 a.m.

This is a devastating loss for the Maine Warden Service, our Department, and the people of Maine. Our thoughts are with the family, loved ones, colleagues, and all those impacted by this tragedy.

We will share additional information as it becomes available.
