We are honored to be one of the agency’s helping to guard the Dunlap Broadside copy of the Declaration of Independence this week. This copy was printed in 1776 and is one of 26 remaining copies. It is available for the public to view Friday and Saturday at UMPI. Please view the Maine Historic society website for more information on viewings.

We would like to welcome our two new deputies Deputy Austin White and Deputy Seraphima Smalley.

Deputy White grew up in the Oakfield area and is a Southern Aroostook community school graduate. He most recently worked for Houlton PD the past five years where he served as a Corporal and Taser instructor.

Deputy Smalley grew up in Drew Plantation on the Aroostook border. Deputy Smalley most recently worked at Houlton PD the last two years.

Tonight Deputy Wipperman and Deputy Bernhardt attended the Limestone Community School career fair. Deputy Wipperman helped an attendee change their flat tire, and they got to meet a family that just moved to the area from Chile.

Today Sergeant Janakis was invited to meet with the Grasshopper Academy where they gifted us a beautiful sign they made. Sergeant Janakis and Deputy Smith were both then able to attend the Houlton touch a truck. The siren was very popular with some, not so much with the older crowd.

On Friday, August 7th, Sheriff Peter Johnson participated at AMHC’s Community Event in the dunking booth. All funds raised went to support AMHC Sexual Assault Services. He looks pretty dry in the picture but I don’t think that’s how he left the event💦

The Aroostook County Sheriffs Office is seeking the public’s help in Locating Walker Craig, age 25. Walker was last believe to be in the area of the York Road in Hersey during the early hours of 08/09/2026. Walker was last known to be wearing the jeans and grey shirt in the below photo.
