🌱 Tree Sale Update! 🌱

Starting tomorrow, Saturday, May 16th at 11:00 AM, all remaining tree sale stock will be reduced to HALF PRICE to help us liquidate inventory during our sale!

Those who come earlier in the day will still have access to the best selection, while the half price sale will apply to whatever inventory remains at 11:00 AM. If you don’t mind a more limited selection, this will be a great opportunity to pick up some plants at a discount while supplies last.

Days 2 and 3 of Tree Sale prep are wrapped up and ready for the main event tomorrow morning, Saturday, May 16th from 9-12 at the Drill Shop / Copper Country Curling Club building!

Today was the first day of our annual Tree Sale prep! Our volunteers started by unpacking nursery orders and finished by bagging and tagging a majority of our fruit trees!

Happy Arbor Day from the Houghton Keweenaw Conservation District!

Arbor Day is a reminder that planting trees and shrubs is one small way we can all invest in a healthier local environment, cleaner water, better wildlife habitat, reduced erosion, and stronger landscapes for future generations.

One great native favorite is red-osier dogwood, known for its year round bright red stems that stand out beautifully through fall and winter, along with white berries that support birds and pollinators. It thrives especially well in moist soil or low lying areas where many other plants struggle, making it a great choice for both beauty and habitat restoration. Red-osier dogwood, along with many other trees, shrubs, and planting supplies, is still available through our spring tree sale for those looking to plant with purpose this season.

Spring planting season is here, and it’s a great time to add trees and plants that thrive in Houghton and Keweenaw Counties. Whether you’re improving wildlife habitat, adding fruit production, or enhancing your property, planting now supports long term land health and local conservation.

While some items have already sold out, there are still many seedlings, fruit trees, planting materials, and more available.

📅 We are no longer accepting mail-in check orders. However, you can still place pre-sale orders online, by phone, or in-office (cash, check, or card) until May 4th, 2026
