A huge thank you to everyone who participated in Saturday’s tire collection event!

The event continues to grow each year, and we’re very happy with the turnout.

2026 Tire Collection Totals:
• Portage Township – 788 tires
• Chassell Township – 203 tires
• Adams Township/Village – 485 tires
• Other – 57 tires

Total Tires Collected: 1,533
Total Vehicles: 194

Thank you to everyone who helped make the event a success. We hope to work together again next year and make it even bigger!

💧 HYDRANT FLUSHING NOTICE 💧

The Portage Township Maintenance Department will be flushing fire hydrants throughout the Township.

During this process, you may notice discolored or cloudy water. Please don’t be alarmed this is normal during hydrant flushing.

If your water is discolored, simply run your cold water until it clears.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while our Maintenance Department completes this important system maintenance.

FOREST HILL CEMETERY NOTICE
The Charter Township of Portage is asking all families and visitors to please remove all grave decorations, flowers, solar lights, flags, ornaments, and other personal items from gravesites at Forest Hill Cemetery by Labor Day, Monday, September 7, 2026.
Any items remaining after Labor Day may be removed by cemetery personnel as part of the cemetery’s seasonal cleanup and maintenance.

A huge Thank You to St. Germain Sandblasting for the great work they did getting our water tower compliant and giving it a fresh new paint job!

It turned out awesome, and it’s hard to believe Pat was all the way up there hand painting our logo!

We really appreciate the time, hard work, and attention to detail that went into this project. Great job guys!
