Happy 4th of July, Husky Nation! 🎇

As we gather with family and friends to celebrate Independence Day here in the beautiful Keweenaw, the Michigan Tech Department of Public Safety and Police Services wants to wish everyone a safe, fun, and memorable holiday weekend.

Whether you are enjoying a BBQ, heading out on the water, or watching the local fireworks over the canal, our priority is keeping our campus and community safe.

💡 A Few Quick Tips for a Safe 4th of July:
Leave Fireworks to the Pros: Remember that consumer fireworks are prohibited on Michigan Tech's campus grounds and in residential halls. Catching a community display is the safest (and best!) view around.

Stay Safe on the Water & Roads: If your holiday plans involve traveling or hitting the water, please drive sober, designate a driver, and ensure everyone has a life jacket.

Protect Your Pets: The loud booms can be terrifying for our four-legged friends. Keep pets securely indoors during fireworks displays to prevent them from running off.

📞 We’re Always On Duty
Our officers and dispatchers are on patrol 24/7 through the holiday weekend to serve you. If you need us, we are just a call away:

🚨 Emergencies: Dial 911

📞 Non-Emergency Assistance: Call 906-487-2216

💬 Text Public Safety: 906-421-4911

📍 Location: Harold Meese Center

Have a wonderful and safe Fourth of July! Go Huskies! 🐕💛🖤
