The Hosmer Volunteer Fire Department's Annual Lawn Mower Poker Run is quickly approaching!
July 25th 2026
Lunch and Registration starting at Noon
After the poker run we will have supper, live auction, and the band Crash Landing! We will also draw the raffle ticket prizes at 8:00pm.
The kids water side will also be returning this year!
If you dont have your raffle ticket yet, reach out to a member of the department or message us on Facebook!
Grand prize for the raffle is your choice of a Kawasaki or Can-Am side-by-side! Only 800 tickets being sold!
Proceeds from this years fundraiser will be used towards to the purchase of a new rescue/wildland truck as well as updating old equipment.
We look forward to seeing everyone there!

McPherson county has put a burn ban into effect. Edmunds county is in a continuous burn ban. This means you must call into the sherrifs department and the fire department and get permission to burn. Everybody be safe out there!

The burn ban is in effect until the red flag warning expires AND until the grassland fire index drops below the "very high category" per ordinance 21-1

We have had a busy couple weeks of training! First up was a training on thermal imaging cameras and some fire flow path using the mini house.
Next we joined up other members of the North Central Fire Chiefs Association for a day of training on Primary Search for victims under heavy smoke conditions. We were able to incorporate our Thermal Imaging Camera skills we learned the previous weekend, into this training.
After search training, we assisted in burning down the house we trained I n.
Thank you to everyone who participated and made these trainings happen!

If any one has burned any thing in the last few days, please check on it today! Tomorrow with the wind and humidity, fire can re-ignite and spread quickly! If you think you need some water put on it please give us a call!

Thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed the fish with us tonight! Words can't explain how much our community support means to us!
We still have two Fish Frys to go so please join us again on March 6th and March 20th! Still all you can eat! We have a couple more side dishes for the 6th and on the 20th we will be doing fish and chips! Thank you all again!
