This morning on the Black Otter members of our department worked on ice rescue training techniques. Brushing up on techniques, understanding what it’s like to be in the water with the suits on, and familiarizing with our equipment helps us respond with safe knowledge and skills to that type of call. Remember “No Ice is safe ice”

Today has a sad meaning and a happy story! 2 years ago today we laid chip to rest, But we can honor this day by officially announcing: drum roll!
The Chip Garrow “Chipstrong” Memorial Fire Protection scholarship at the FVTC.
The scholarship endowment is a lifetime scholarship that will go on forever and will be awarded to a new student each fall that is in the fire protection technician AAS program. I’m beyond excited and know chip would be so proud to help the future fire fighters of our world. Thank you all sponsors/ friends and family for making this possible.
