Today we hosted a luncheon for our retired firefighters from over the years. The fellas got some good food and drinks, got to get up close with our current equipment and gear, and were all given a challenge coin. All of this to show our appreciation of the time and service they gave to our community.

It was a great afternoon filled with all sorts of stories and even more laughs.

We would also like to thank our patrons for making this donation possible through our Firehouse Friday Donation Program!

We were able to deliver our first donation to the Hortonville-Hortonia Fire Department and Chief Kuhnke. 🚒

We are looking forward to building momentum and continuing this donation program!

We are pleased to announce the following promotions that took effect at the beginning of 2026.

-Loren Steinacker was promoted from Captain to Assistant Chief

-Luke Baehman was promoted from Lieutenant to Captain

-Ben Thomson was promoted from Engineer to Lieutenant

Their hard work and dedication to the communities of Hortonville and Hortonia is unwavering and will continue to show as they transition into their new roles.

Tonight at our monthly meeting, we recognized the following 3 individuals for completing their Firefighter 1 class and the State Certification exam.

We are excited to have these gentlemen certified and ready to work!

This Christmas, the Firefighters of HHFD wanted to once again do some good with some of the funds we raised over the last year by donating to a few individuals.

Some gifts and goodies were purchased by our Firefighters for Brinley and Bryson Laabs to assure that they had the best Christmas they could!

A donation was also made by our Firefighters to the benefit for Tess Baehman. Tess is currently in her 2nd battle with cancer in the last 3 years. Benefit details listed in the picture below.
