Yesterday, ESD K9 "Mac" assisted the Montgomery County Detective Bureau with locating a cell phone that was discarded after a homicide. Mac had a large area to search, but that proved to be no problem for this guy's sniffer! Good boy, Mac!!

Mac is trained in electronics scent detection and is the only K9 with such training in our area. Mac's person/handler is Detective Kimberly Ngo of our Criminal Investigations Division. We obtained Mac using grant funding provided by The Asplundh Foundation and Rep. Melissa Cerrato's office. I cannot thank Rep. Cerrato and the Asplundh Foundation enough for helping us bring Mac to the Horsham Township Police Department. He and his handler have helped numerous local, state, and federal agencies -near and far - this year, and we look forward to the next opportunity to help out our fellow law enforcement partners.

Good Morning Friends,

We were contacted by a member of the public to let us know about the positive actions of one of our officers. Yesterday afternoon a passing motorist saw one of our officers assisting a disabled motorist near the intersection of Witmer and Blair Mill. With the rush hour fast approaching, the officer assisted by pushing the disabled car safely off the roadway and into an adjacent parking lot.

It took us a bit of digging but we were able to identify the officer. So today we will be donating $25.00 to one of her favorite local charities, the College Settlement Day Camp, on behalf of that officer, Anna Kumor.

Thank you Officer Kumor for going above and beyond to make Horsham a better and safer place. Your actions yesterday afternoon in helping that stranded motorist and removing that car from the roadway are a living example of what it means to protect and serve.
