Thank you to everyone who dropped off food donations this month. Matthew and I delivered them to the Ambler Community Fridge outside the Ambler Mennonite Church. This fridge and the cupboard beside it are available to the public around the clock and are a real treasure in our community. Your generosity helps ensure that it stays stocked for anyone who may be in need, and we are truly grateful.

SEPTA Senior Key Card Event

We are excited to invite you to our upcoming SEPTA Senior Key Card Event, created to make it easier for residents who may not be able to visit our office during the workweek to apply for or renew their Senior Key Card.

Through our continued partnership with SEPTA, we are proud to provide this convenient opportunity for seniors in our community. The SEPTA Senior Key Card is available to residents aged 65 and older and offers free rides on all SEPTA transit routes, including buses, trolleys, subways, and regional rail. Seniors traveling to Delaware or New Jersey can also enjoy a 50 percent discount on fares when using their Senior Key Card.

Important Notes:
• SEPTA currently takes about four weeks to process and mail new cards.
• If you prefer not to wait, you may renew your pass directly at SEPTA Headquarters, 1234 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107, by scheduling an appointment at (215) 580‑7145.
• Please note that duplicate cards cannot be issued at this event. To replace a lost or stolen card, you must mail a $5 check or money order payable to SEPTA to: SEPTA, P.O. Box 824833, Philadelphia, PA 19182.

We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to secure or renew your Senior Key Card in a convenient and supportive setting. Please spread the word to friends and neighbors who may benefit from this program

Hi, my name is Sam and you may remember me from my 10-week internship in Rep. Cerrato's office last summer. I am a recent graduate of West Chester University. While at West Chester, I majored in Political Science with minors in Social Work and Law, Politics and Society. I was also part of the Women’s Soccer team. In my free time I enjoy running, reading, and hanging out with friends and family. I am excited to be returning to Missy’s office as a full-time constituent service advisor and hope to contribute in a meaningful way!

My House Resolution 134 passed out of the PA House Human Services Committee unanimously and is on its way to the Floor for a vote!

HR 134 directs the Joint State Government Commission to conduct a comprehensive study of Pennsylvania’s home and community-based services waiver programs for individuals with physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism, and other developmental disabilities. The goal is to identify ways we can streamline the application process, improve service delivery, and make these critical supports easier for individuals and families to access.

For too many Pennsylvanians, navigating the waiver system can feel overwhelming, confusing, and far too slow. Families should not have to fight through unnecessary barriers just to access the care and support their loved ones need to live safely, independently, and with dignity in their communities.

I am grateful to my colleagues on the Human Services Committee for advancing this resolution with bipartisan support, and I look forward to continuing this work to make our systems more responsive, compassionate, and accessible for the people who depend on them.

Hello everyone! My name is Alexis and I am a recent graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Political Science. I am so grateful to be working with Representative Melissa Cerrato’s office because it gives me the opportunity to serve the community, support constituents, and gain hands-on experience in government.

I have always been passionate about law, public service, and helping others, so this role is a meaningful step toward my future goal of attending law school and pursuing a career in the legal field within the coming years. Through this position, I hope to continue developing my communication and advocacy skills while learning more about the needs of the people in our district.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, getting involved in my community especially with NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and Ambler Area Running Club, and continuing to grow personally and professionally. I am extremely thankful for the opportunity to work with Representative Cerrato and her team!

I had the pleasure of welcoming four college students from across the Commonwealth, including my former intern Eddie, who now attends Penn State Harrisburg, to my Capitol office.

We spent time talking about the issues that matter most to them and the policy areas they believe deserve greater attention. Each student brought a unique perspective and set of priorities, and the conversations were thoughtful, energetic, and genuinely inspiring.

Hearing directly from young people who are eager to shape the future is always a highlight. Their insight and passion remind me why this work matters.

Memorial Day reminds us of the profound sacrifice made by the men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Today, we pause to honor their courage, their devotion, and the families who carry their legacy. May we strive to uphold the values they fought to protect and never take for granted the freedoms secured by their service.

We remember. We honor. We are grateful.
