I know that this is going to hard news for a lot of folks, and is unfortunate to hear: The amount of rain (while much needed and no doubt thankful for) was not a sufficiant amount to keep us safe. Therefore, Izard County Judge, Eric Smith has decided to keep the BURN BAN ACTIVE.

UPDATE
The burn ban remains in effect for ALL of Izard.

NEW INFORMATION
As of 10:50 today (9/3/26), County Judge, Eric Smith has declared Izard County as a DISASTER. The declaration was considered after looking at the extreme dry and drought conditions that threaten life and property as well as the effects to agriculture.
