Since I've already shared why I'm running for Chemung County legislator, I'd like to share a bit of my professional experience. I've spent nearly 18 years in adult education and literacy deeply committed to helping individuals improve their lives by expanding their access to education, vocational training and sustainable employment. My work is grounded in writing, securing and implementing both state and federal grants, which includes the critical responsibility of maintaining and overseeing budgets to ensure they remain in full compliance. These grants require creating strong collaborative partnerships with local workforce, social services, multiple community resources, and numerous local stakeholders. Throughout this time, I've demonstrated proven successful leadership by managing diverse teams, navigating the complexities of multi-agency programs, exceeding all state required benchmarks and maintaining a highly proficient program. I'm privileged to serve a diverse student body where the focus is always on providing and finding the tools and services necessary for their individual successes. This background is directly beneficial to the role of a County Legislator. Because of my leadership experience and proven ability to navigate interagency collaborations, manage significant funding streams and most importantly always putting the person first, I believe I am right for the job. When the time comes, please consider Elston for District 5.
