It is with great sadness that I share the passing of one of our long time fire fighters of the Hornbeck Volunteer Fire Dept, Greg Lantier HB19. Greg was a great man with a servants heart. He was an active member of Hornbeck Volunteer Fire Dept. I will have exact years later today. He was also a member of the Hornbeck Town Council. Greg loved helping people. He was a pillar of the community and will forever be missed. RIP Greg we will take it from here. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Official Firefighter Final Honors will be accorded and the date and time will be posted as soon as possible.

Fire Safety Announcement: with the cold weather officially here do not use extension cords or power strips to plug in space heaters. Keep them clear at least 2 feet in all directions of all combustible items (ie curtains, drapes, rugs, beds). If you must use a generator keep them outside away from doors and windows. Keep carbon monoxide detectors plugged in. Stay away from down power lines or trees that may be in contact with power lines. Always assume they are live lines and call the power company. In the event of an emergency dial 911. Everyone stay warm and stay safe!
