Horicon Fire Department Responds to Severe Storm Damage on East Lake Street
Horicon, WI – June 10, 2026
At approximately 2:49 p.m. on June 10, 2026, the Horicon Fire Department was dispatched to the 300 block of East Lake Street for a report of smoke coming from a roof.
Due to widespread storm damage throughout the area, response efforts were challenged by numerous downed trees and power lines obstructing roadways. Upon arrival, crews determined that the incident was not related to smoke or fire, but rather significant structural damage caused by severe weather.
Firefighters found that the roofs of three buildings on the south side of East Lake Street had been completely blown off and deposited onto East Lake Street and into the fronts of buildings located on the north side of the street. The extent of the debris field and structural damage prompted the request of a Working Still, bringing in additional resources to assist with scene stabilization, damage assessment, and searches for potentially trapped occupants.
Fortunately, no occupants were trapped. One minor injury was reported at the scene.
Due to ongoing cleanup and recovery operations, the westbound lane of East Lake Street will remain closed for an extended period. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

While managing this incident, emergency crews also responded to two additional calls involving trees down on power lines and localized flooding caused by the storm.
