Craig Dunning of Hopkinton NH Lions Club delivered this years donation of new winter coats for distribution to those in need through the Hopkinton Food Pantry. The Lions Club has donated more than 200 new winter coats over the years in addition to hats, mittens/gloves and winter socks for men, women and children ,in town , who might otherwise not have adequate clothing for the winter months. When you see a Lions fundraiser such as the propane sale,Christmas tree sales at the Depot, and donation jars at multiple location in town, give generously; winter clothes are just one of the many contributions the Lions make in town every year. Pictured are only some of the coats Craig delivered.

This Saturday, 11/1, Cub Scouts around town will be posting these door tags for Scouting for Food. We will pick up on Saturday 11/8 and deliver to the Slusser Center where we stock up the food pantry first, then whatever is left over we bring to the central collection point in Concord with help from our Lion’s Club. If you don’t get a tag, but would like to donate food, please bring directly to the Slusser Center on 11/8 by 10 a.m.
Thanks so much!!

Hopkinton Lions Club
would like to announce that we have another bench ready to be placed in town and we would like the community to select the spot of their choice for where it will be placed.

The Lions Club has worked to bring Beyond the Bag recycling program to Hopkinton. The transfer station has a drop box for single use plastic produce, store, ice, bread, newspaper, dry cleaning, and zip lock bags, as well as bubble wrap and e-commerce mailers. Plastic must be clean and free of food and organic matter. The Hopkinton Lions pick up plastic from the transfer station and add it to the plastics already being collected from local businesses. Trex recycles this plastic into earth-friendly composite decking and railing.
For every 1,000 pounds collected, a handsome Trex bench is provided for our community’s enjoyment. That’s a thousand pounds of plastic that doesn’t go into the hopper or pollute the environment!
We have a trio of Trex benches, one on the green in front of the Depot, another on the Library’s stone patio, and the third at the Houston Field’s dog park.
