Parents always strive to protect their children. People with nefarious intent have reportedly hijacked some children’s programming on YouTube with self-harm how-to messages and pornographic content. Monitoring your children’s online activity is critical. Set boundaries about what they can and cannot watch, and always supervise their viewing if you have concerns.

When boredom sets in, tell a story! Choose a favorite story from your life, or create a new story. Involve your children and other family members in the telling of the story. For more information about parenting, visit the Christian County Extension Office.

Are you tired of hearing “I’m bored”? Maybe a scavenger hunt is the antidote to winter boredom! Make the scavenger hunt a timed event or a race to see who finds the items first. Maybe it would be fun to have it in stages, so they must complete one task before moving on to others! Work together creatively to decide the “rules” of your hunt! For more information about parenting, visit the Christian County Extension Office.
