📢 The City of Hopkinsville is now accepting applications to fill the Ward 5 vacancy on Hopkinsville City Council.

Residents interested in serving their community are encouraged to apply. Applicants must reside within Ward 5 and meet the qualifications required by Kentucky law.

The appointed council member will serve the remainder of the current term, which expires December 31, 2026.

⏰ Reminder for Hopkinsville Businesses

Beginning July 1, 2026, updates to the City of Hopkinsville Net Profit License Fee structure will take effect.

Key changes include:

✔️ Net profit tax rate reduced to 1.3%
✔️ Minimum business license fee reduced to $100
✔️ Previously exempt businesses will now pay a $25 processing fee when filing

🚧 Traffic Alert: North Main Street Road Work Scheduled Next Week 🚧

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises that U.S. 41 (North Main Street) in Hopkinsville will be blocked at two locations next week as a milling and paving project continues.

📍 Locations:
• North Main Street at Glass Avenue
• North Main Street at West 7th Street

🗓 Tuesday, June 16
⏰ 7:30 a.m. – Noon
Roadway blocked for milling operations

🗓 Wednesday, June 17
⏰ 7:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Roadway blocked for resurfacing operations

Motorists should plan ahead and seek alternate routes during these work periods.

The City of Hopkinsville is accepting applications for full-time positions with the Hopkinsville Fire Department’s EMS Division.

Open positions include Critical Care Paramedic, Paramedic, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, and Emergency Medical Technician.

Pay range: $45,003 to $73,142, based on previous EMS experience and provider level.

Schedule: 24 hours on / 48 hours off, Monday through Sunday with a Kelly Day.
