If you stopped in the shop at all last week after the passing of the icon and legend Dolly Parton you definitely heard her music as we began the process of mourning the loss of such a saint and benefactor of literacy across the world. Everyone of course has a special connection to Dolly's legacy, but for book lovers we have been inspired by her Imagination Library program since 1995.

Early childhood literacy rates have the largest impact on education gaps, especially in communities facing the highest barriers to literature access like Dolly's rural hometown. The Imagination Library sends free books to over 3 million children between the ages of 0 and 5 every year, and it is mobilized by local organizations including our very own Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library.

We are joining our neighbors and friends at Hopkinsville Brewing Company and The Mixer this Saturday in celebrating Dolly Parton and the amazing work she accomplished in her lifetime, all while being an absolute legend in the music industry.

✨We will be donating 9.5% of our total sales for the day (9-5, yes like the song!) to HCCPL's Imagination Library, so if you've been looking for an excuse to buy a few more books here is your chance to build your library, and a local child's library at the same time!

💖We've got a special latte planned, and half-priced pink drinks all day. Our bedazzling kits will be getting a refresh and you can bring an item from home to bedazzle or get a free coupe glass from us to deck out in rhinestones.

And yes, we have placed an order for all sorts of books covering Dolly's life and legacy, but so has every other bookstore in the country so they are unfortunately backordered until further notice... You can of course preorder a copy to be set aside when they come in!

Whether you plan to join us or not, we hope you wear pink, boots, or sparkles to send a little love Dolly's way this Saturday.
