Last week, a few of our PACS team members headed to Lexington for the Community Action Kentucky Annual Conference. Three days of sessions and conversations with community action staff from across the state.

We came back with new ideas, fresh connections, and honestly, way too few photos. We were too busy taking notes and catching up with folks doing this same work in their own corners of Kentucky to remember the camera.

That's the part we love most. Getting in a room with people who are empowering low-income individuals to become self-reliant through community service, assistance, education, and partnerships. 💙

I CAN focus on my health because of Community Action.

A client facing serious medical challenges was also dealing with uncertainty about how to manage her care without reliable coverage. The stress of navigating the system on her own made an already difficult situation even harder.

With one‑on‑one guidance from Pennyrile Allied Community Services Kynector Teresa Newton, the client was able to understand her options, complete the necessary steps, and secure coverage for her medical needs. That clarity and support allowed her to focus on addressing her health concerns without constant worry about how to move forward.

This story reflects the role Community Action plays across our communities by providing practical assistance, clear information, and dependable support that helps individuals move forward with confidence.

Some titles are earned and CCAP is one of them. This CCAP week we are celebrating the PACS employees that carry that designation.

The Certified Community Action Professional designation isn't handed out. It takes a real understanding of this work, where it came from, and what it demands. It takes the kind of commitment that doesn't clock out.

This week, we're honoring the PACS team members who carry that credential and more importantly, who carry it out every day across our nine-county region.
