Some good news on the sustainability front!

Hopkins' Energy Action Plan aims to cut an extra 40 percent of energy-related greenhouse gas emissions by 2028 compared to business as usual, saving the community $1.9 million on energy costs in the process.

The City's 2025 year-end numbers on Hopkins' Energy Action Plan goals exceeded all three of its implementation targets for 2025:

Β· Electricity savings reached nearly 8 million kWh (143 percent of the implementation target and the equivalent of powering 856 Minnesota homes for a year).

Β· Energy efficiency participation came in at 1,059 residents and businesses (118 percent of the implementation target).

Β· Avoided emissions hit 2,211 metric tons of CO2e (133 percent of target) compared to the Plan's total goal of 2,008-7,015 metric tons of CO2e, the City has exceeded it's minimum impact goal well before 2028!

The City of Hopkins has a strong foundation for the longer-term 2028 goals to become a more climate-resilient community.

It was an absolute pleasure and an honor to introduce Lieutenant Governor - and candidate for U.S. Senate - Peggy Flanagan at her fundraiser last week!

As a fellow woman of color elected to office right here in her district, I am inspired by her leadership, dedication, and vision. Peggy is by far the most qualified person for this position, and she is exactly who we need representing Minnesota.

I can’t wait to join Team Peggy this weekend at the State DFL Convention in Rochester! πŸ—³οΈβœ¨

I have been way behind on posts! Is it possible that the start of summer has been just TOO busy to keep up? (Yes, the answer is yes).

Anyway, here's me and some super, fantastic, amazing Council Members from the West Metro who gathered last weekend to catch each other up on what's going on in our cities and just enjoy each other's company! I'm very lucky to have built this camaraderie among such wonderful people who also love to serve. Thanks, friends!

Last week I was invited to join my colleagues at the Hennepin County State of the County address. It was a pleasure to hear Board Chair Irene Fernando’s updates and catch up with our District 6 Commissioner, Heather Edelson. Grateful for both of these strong leaders!

The strong partnership between Hopkins and Hennepin County is vital to delivering the services, infrastructure, and support our residents rely on every day. Together, we’re keeping our community moving forward! 🀝✨
