Why is it that we are now in 2021 voted in the same do nothing members to City Council and have the same issues we have been having before. Our TRASH WAS SCHEDULED TO BE PICKED UP ON THURSDAY AND IT STILL SITS IN FRONT OF EVERY HOUSE ON NORTH AVE! CITY COUNCIL HAS STILL DONE NOTHING TO FIX THE TRASH PROBLEM IN HOPEWELL. I guess the old saying "you get what you vote for" stands true.

On election day, many things went wrong in Ward 5. We had Officers of Elections illegally asking voters as they checked in if they were Republican or Democrat. This was an effective effort to intimidate voters from voting and caused some voters not to go vote. If you were a voter in Ward 5 or any other Ward, please contact me. I am filing a complaint to the Department of Elections over this fraud on our system of the secret ballot when you are forced to state the Party you are voting for. As I was picking up my signs from the Ward over the weekend, I had a few people tell me they would have voted for me but instead chose not to vote when they learned on social media that they would have to tell the poll workers if they were or were not going to vote for the President by the question of what Party they are voting for. It is sad this has happened and we must do everything within our power to ensure it never happens again. UPDATE

I just got off the phone with Mr. Shelton, the City Registrar. He told me that Councilor Denton did file her report on time and he misinformed me. As of 2 minutes ago he stated Mr. Silvestro has still not filed his report.

For this error on the part of the City Registrar's incorrect information he provided to me yesterday, I do apologize to Councilor Denton. As a candidate in this Ward 5 race, I always want to speak the truth. I have no problem correcting an unintentional falsehood. I acted on the information given to me from the official source of the information. Again I do apologize to Councilor Denton. My statement about Silvestro is unchanged and I stand behind them.

Good Morning Ward 5 and Hopewell.
Councilor Denton and Mr. Silvestro failed to file their Campaign Finance Report as required by law. What are they hiding? What do they not want you, the Citizens to know? If they can not file a simple report on time, how can we trust them to do the job as a City Councilor. It's time for transparency. It's time for leadership. It's time for a change!

I am looking forward to November 3rd. This is an exciting time. We will win this election together and move Hopewell into a bright future for all the citizens of Hopewell. I am already building an excellent group of Hopewell citizens to build my advisory committee. As I always say I do not know everything and there are those who will assist me to bridge those gaps.
