Matt Rowland recently spoke to the club about his life and journey as a professional musician. Matt is the son of Bill and Mona (Rowe) Rowland and has recently returned to Hope with his wife, Olivia, and purchased the David and Cherry Stewart property on Third Street.

Matt shared about his life and traveling with Tyler Childers, and he played a patriotic number on the piano for the club. His dad Bill and uncles Scott Rowland and John Carroll came, too, and his wife, Olivia. Matt will play the organ on Sept 13 at the morning service at Calvary Baptist Church.

Monday, July 20, the club heard a very interesting program by Brianna Maclaughin and Gio Ruiz about their recent trip to France with the Bobcat Travel Club.

21 students and 11 chaperones spent a week touring various areas of France in June. The highlights were Paris, the Eiffel Tower, sites of the D-Day invasion in Normandy and Notre Dame Cathedral.

Rainna Lively Ghormley is the sponsor of the club , but was unable to attend as she was traveling. The club has previously gone to Costa Rica, Washington DC and New York. They are making plans to travel to Japan next year. The purpose of the club is to give students an opportunity to see and experience the world rather than just reading about it or being told about it.

Brianna and Gio did an outstanding job in presenting information about the trip and answering the many questions from club members. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their presentation.
