Emergency Management is tasked with the responsibility of helping communities and organizations anticipate hazards and vulnerability, and undertake measures to more effectively deal with disasters (e.g., mitigate, prepare for, respond to and recover from them). The duties of 9-1-1 Coordinator include, but are not limited to: Verify accuracy of road centerlines, road ranges and the Master Street A

ddress Guide (MSAG); Assign addresses for new construction, utilities, etc; Establish and maintain MSAG data base of street names, street addresses ranges, telephone company provider and emergency service provider information so that when a 9-1-1 call is placed the correct information is populated onto the 9-1-1 screen as to the location from where the call is placed and what emergency service provider(s) is sent. Both positions require hours of education to stay up to date on the latest policies, job responsibilities, and equipment. And of course neither position is complete without hours and tons of paperwork!! There are multiple reports to be completed and filed each year.
