2026 HPD Santa Cop Softball Tournament

One-Year Anniversary of Missing Person Case

On September 2nd, 2025, Destinee Bruce, who was 29 years old at the time, was reported missing from Hope, AR. Bruce was reportedly last seen by family members on Saturday, August 30th, 2025.

Since Bruce was reported missing, investigators with the Hope Police Department have continued to actively investigate this case. The investigation has included numerous interviews, the ex*****on of multiple search warrants, and searches of properties. Despite these ongoing efforts, Bruce has not been located.

Today, Sunday, August 30th, 2026, marks one year since Destinee Bruce was last seen.

The Hope Police Department remains committed to finding Bruce and providing answers to her family. Investigators continue to work on this case on a daily basis and will continue their efforts until Destinee Bruce is located and this case is resolved.

The Hope Police Department is asking anyone who may have information regarding Bruce's disappearance or whereabouts to come forward. No piece of information is considered insignificant. Even information that may seem minor or unrelated could prove valuable to investigators.

The Hope Police Department would also like to thank the citizens of Hope, AR and the surrounding communities for their continued assistance and cooperation in providing information and supporting law enforcement throughout this investigation.

Hope Police Department Announces Additional Charges in Ongoing Investigation

As previously reported, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at approximately 3:15 p.m., detectives with the Hope Police Department arrested Bryanna Brewer, 33, of Hope, Arkansas, in the 1300 block of East 3rd Street. Brewer was charged with Hindering Apprehension/Prosecution and was transported to the Hempstead County Detention Facility, where she was held pending her first court appearance. During that appearance, Brewer’s bond was set at $250,000 cash.

On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, Lance Brewer, 33, of Hope, Arkansas, was arrested by the United States Marshals Service in Texarkana, Texas, on a warrant issued by the Hope Police Department and the 8th North Circuit Court for the offense of R**e. On Friday, June 5, 2026, Lance Brewer was extradited to the Hempstead County Detention Facility, where he was held pending his first court appearance. During that appearance, his bond was set at $350,000 cash.

On Friday, August 21, 2026, Hope Police Department detectives obtained additional warrants for both individuals as the investigation continues.

Bryanna Brewer was charged with Permitting Abuse of a Minor. During her first appearance on this charge, an additional bond of $250,000 cash was set.

Lance Brewer was charged with an additional count of R**e. During his first appearance on this charge, an additional bond of $350,000 cash was set.

The Hope Police Department continues to investigate this matter. Additional information may be released as it becomes available and as appropriate to the ongoing investigation and judicial proceedings.

Let’s Work Together to End Drunk Driving!

Hope, AR— From August 19 through September 7, 2026, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will be working alongside the Hope Police Department to deter drunk driving and prevent tragedies during the Labor Day holiday weekend. The message is clear: Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.

During the 2024 Labor Day holiday (6 p.m. August 30 - 5:59 a.m. September 3), there were 505 traffic crash fatalities nationwide. Of these 505 fatalities, 34% (170) involved a drunk driver. Seventy-seven percent of the impaired drivers killed had a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .15 or higher. Among drivers between the ages of 18 and 34 who were killed in crashes over the Labor Day holiday in 2024, 40% of those drivers were drunk, with BACs of .08 or higher.

We want our community members to understand that it’s our first priority to keep people safe, so we’re asking everyone to plan ahead if they know they’ll be out drinking. The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign is an awareness effort to get the message out that drunk driving is illegal and it kills. Let’s make this a partnership between law enforcement and drivers: Help us protect the community and put an end to this dangerous behavior.

If a driver intends to drink during a Labor Day festivity, he or she should plan ahead for a safe ride home by securing a designated driver or calling a taxi or rideshare. They shouldn’t wait until after drinking to plan how to get somewhere. Impairment clouds a person’s judgment and endangers others on the road.
If a driver finds they are unable to drive, they should give their keys to a sober driver so that person can get them home safely. When a friend has been drinking and is considering driving, friends should be proactive — take away the keys and help them get a sober ride home. If anyone spots a drunk driver, contact the Hope Police Department.

*Arrest made in connection with July 17th, 2026 homicide*

On Thursday, August 6th, 2026 at 1:27pm, detectives arrested Kevin Lozano, 19 of Hope, AR in the 900 block of South Elm Street, pursuant to a warrant issued from the 8th North Circuit Court for the offenses of Murder 1st Degree and Battery 1st Degree.

This arrest is the result of an investigation into the July 17th, 2026 shooting death of Gabriel Trujillo Garcia of Paris, TX in which a juvenile female was also shot but survived. The incident occurred in the 1000 block of West 7th Street.

Lozano was transported to the Hempstead County Detention Facility where he will be held pending a first court appearance. This case remains actively under investigation.
