FY27 Tax Bill Error: Please see the photo for details. We anticipate that the bills will be lower. However, Please do not call the Town Office at this time on this matter because we don't have any additional information. The Town will share more information as soon as it is available. If you have already paid your taxes, also please hold off contacting the office until things are sorted. We apologize for the error and appreciate your patience and understanding.

HOT HOT HOT !!! As I am sure many of you are aware the temperatures over the next few days are expected to be Hot and will likely be an official heat wave with Thursday being the worst day. It has been my past experience that most folks in hope are self suffecient in working through these uncomfortable days. I would suggest that everyone check in on especially their elderly neighbors and dont forget the pets. and of course HYDRATE. : ) If you do find yourself in need of seeking a cool place to take a break from the heat in the library while the Town Office is open Wednesday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and Thursday Noon to 6:00 PM . They will be closed Friday. If there any medical heat related emergencies please call 911. If you are aware of any extreme situations that may require attention please call me 207-542-2694. The Town of Hope office will be closed April 14-17 because of short staffing due to planned medical needs and a family emergency. We appreciate your understanding and apologize for the inconvenience. Please check the Town website hopemaine.org next week to check hours.

FYI, due to the storm the dump will be closed tomorrow. Ditto for the town office. Please do remember our new road crew will be working hard over the night, but with the snow coming down at an inch an hour for multiple hours (like 1 am to 6 am ish according to my weather app), there are only so many roads they can clear with our group of truck. Please be patient, stay home if you can, and stay safe!

1:30 Friday, Decemer 19, 2025: Town Office is now closed because there is no power due to the storm / winds (and not expected to return until at least 3 pm). Since we can't process anything without power / computers, there we are. Stay safe and avoid falling branches!
