On May 28, 2026, the Southeastern North Carolina Violent Crime Task Force conducted a detail in Red Springs. The following individuals were arrested/charged:
Dontrais Johnson, age 29, from Malpass Ave in Red Springs, NC, arrested by Alcohol Law Enforcement Agent for Possession of Ma*****na and Possession of a Spirituous Liquor in Place not Authorized by ABC Law.
Keontay Leach, age 20, from Brooks Avenue in Red Springs, NC, arrested by Officer Brub of the Hope Mills Police Department for Possession of Ma*****na, Unlicensed Driving, and Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle.
Johnnie Locklear III, age 27, from Shannon Road in Shannon, NC, arrested by Alcohol Law Enforcement Agent Swartz for Possession of Ecstasy, Possession of Ma*****na, and Possession of Suboxone.
Amber Locklear, age 34, from Westgate Terrace in Red Springs, NC, arrested by the Red Springs Police Department on a warrant for Resisting a Public Officer.
Bennie Henrson Jr, age 60, from Stocks Road in Red Springs, NC, arrested by Officer Settles of the Red Springs Police Department for Conspiracy to Sell or Deliver Oxycodone, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Destruction of evidence.
Glenda Callahan, age 54, from Mount Zion Church Road in Red Springs, Nc, arrested by Officer Settles of the Red Springs Police Department for Conspiracy to Sell or Deliver Oxycodone.
Jayquan McRae, age 27, from Honey Street in Laurinburg, NC, arrested by the Red Springs Police Department on Failure to Appear Warrant.
Lester Farrington, age 70, from Taylor Street in Red Springs, NC, arrested by Officer Settles of the Red Springs Police Department for Conspiracy to Sell or Deliver Oxycodone, Possession of Hydromorphone, Possession with the Intent to Sell or Deliver Oxycodone, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Maintaining a Drug Vehicle.

The task force is comprised of the Lumberton, Red Springs, Pembroke, St. Pauls, Parkton, Maxton, Fayetteville, Spring Lake and Hope Mills Police Departments, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division, the United States Department of Homeland Security, The United States Drug Enforcement Administration, and North Carolina Department of Probation and Parole.
The task force was formed to combat violent crime and to address drug and weapons violations in towns in Robeson and Cumberland Counties.
