The Hoover Fire Department was formed in 1962. Today, the department is made up of 187 dedicated men and women who are led by Fire Chief K.C. The department provides emergency and non-emergency services to over 85,000 residents and 44 square miles. The department operates out of 10 fire stations. All of our front line apparatus are ALS (Advanced Life Support). Most of our personnel are Paramedics.

Last week, members of the Hoover Fire Department traveled to Chicago for the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI) accreditation hearing, where we received our second accreditation.

This achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our entire department to continuous improvement and providing the highest level of service to our community.

We would like to thank the Mayor’s Office, the Hoover City Council, and the community for their continued support in achieving this outstanding accomplishment.

Throwing it back to last year’s 9/11 Stair Climb, when our community came together to honor and remember the heroes and lives lost on September 11, 2001. 🇺🇸

We’re looking forward to coming together again this year for Hoover’s annual 9/11 Patriot Day Remembrance Ceremony and Stair Climb.
